Sadly sliding through a sea of strangers
someone sends me a small spirited smile.
Solemnity slows for a sensual bliss,
with a meaningful glance, her smile's returned.
In my joy I am blind to the dangers
that we wont see each other, a sweet denial.
Our admirations wont lead to a kiss,
we will not receive that for which we both yearned.
Although we both sought high and low like rangers,
I could not again find those eyes that beguile.
That brief contact is a moment I miss,
my search for connection so sadly spurned.
When our eyes met, the skies set on fire,
til doused by water, now I can't find desire.
