Treacherous Beauty

Beauty can be so treacherous;
towering landscapes standing tall
provide a backdrop for us to fall.

Beauty can be so treacherous;
coloured seas in one moment calm
the next their tempests are causing harm.

Beauty can be so treacherous;
the radiant sun, warm and kind
could just as swiftly burn and blind.

Beauty can be so treacherous;
the shining bright hue in your eyes
could still be there when you tell lies.

Beauty can be so treacherous;
the warmth emitted from your smile
might be frozen in just a while.

Beauty can be so treacherous;
so should we seek out life's allure
or settle for something plain but pure?
