Contrasted Cliffs

In layers of scratches and incisions
your form evolves along the bumps and bends,
shaped by passing time and man's decisions
where sturdy lives may meet their crumbling ends.

But amongst the chalk, granite and the sand
there is something of beauty to be found,
for throughout the differences of the land
it's all anchored by the same common ground.

So let age not define your sense of self
nor be it the colour you have been formed,
you are not your possessions or your wealth
but sculpted by the beliefs you have formed.

Do not discriminate texture or tone
but see beauty in all kinds of stone.

All is Fair...

I once felt so honoured to be your disposable body,
the hero who would kiss your enemies to death.
You paid dutiful respects at the funeral of you and me,
but shed no tear over our final parting breath.

You pleaded ignorance when out of the public's eye
and searched for the next tangle to initiate
knowing very well that they would also die
blundering through the no-man's land of love and hate.

21st Century Ignorance

"I don't mean to be rude"
but the slights you make
have no basis in moral reasoning
but only in misguided hatred
and as much as you deny it
the generalisations used
are specific and targeted.
You disgust me more
than the so called evils
that you denounce
and I feel that I have more in common
with these subcultures I don't belong in
than any person who persecutes them;
afterall we are all humans.

Brutish Britain

I’ve seen this happen in other people’s lives
and now it’s happening in mine.
It seems the world is engaged with make believe strifes-
it’s apparent that humanity has lost their mind.
But what do you all fight to achieve?
Does your violence come with a cause?
Or am I to truly believe
that you no longer have faith in laws?
If this is all some moral act
to better our humanity
then you really ought to face the facts;
this is inhuman insanity.
There’s “cons” in constitution
but there’s “care” in healthcare
and crime is never the solution
when to the victims it isn’t fair.
Put down your stolen goods and your knives
and try to pick up some sense
and you’ll learn how your illogical protests cost lives
and your swag all comes with an expense.
If you live by the gun, you will get shot
so don’t feel so hard done by if you face consequences.
These actions, of course, will not be forgot;
you will all suffer for your offenses.

Forebearers of the Forecast

Clouds go into a battle arrangement
against the strong but predictable sun.
A legion of rebels in estrangement
from the unforgiving empire of one.

Civilians are caught in the crossfire
mostly indifferent to the heavy reign
Having to choose between ice and fire
guarantees a future of fear and pain.

So people do that for which they are known
and align themselves with the greater power,
not concerned with thinking on their own
as long as they live to see the next hour.

People are as fickle as the climates;
we are still the same ape-eat-ape primates.

Kvetch

They say that all women are from Venus
and men are from Mars
but I've been feeling like everyone else
are from different stars.
Both women and men are essentially
aliens the same,
all just different coloured opposing pawns
on their life's chess game.
But me, I am not one for these tactics
all so tired and tried
because you cannot crown a winner when
all your fight has died.
I have no desire to invade your worlds
nor move your pieces
I'll passively watch your internal wars
until your childhood ceases
and then I'll ask if you've learned your lesson
of the world and your words
and if you understand you won't be trying
so hard to be heard.
You're not a victim of brutality
so don't act abused
when there are much worse crimes in the world than
the rants that you've used.

Horticulture on a Haughty Culture

If the world is our back garden
then I don’t want these fences
that make all these tensions harden
and put us on our defences.

If the ocean is our pond
then I propose we make it shared;
it was produced that way au fond
so why did tempers become flared?

If this country is our home
why do I live amongst strangers?
Is it safer to live alone
when fellow lodgers present dangers?

If the world is our back garden
then it is time we mowed the grass
and pray the withered grant us pardon
for the Earth’s malnourished past.

A Resonate Sonnet

The world rests on textures intertwined
with life's soft harmonies of highs and lows.
Alone so humdrum, beautiful they bend,
dulcet ambience with loud crescendos.

Genres spread over different continents
each with unique sounds to love and behold,
filled with different lyrics and instruments
in magnificence, understated yet bold.

The chorus of our time repeats itself
and we grow nostalgic towards the past
when this sonic beauty was its wealth;
an abundance of long notes meant to last.

But every song must fade out to silence
when drowned out with man's destructive violence.

Candy

Such sparkling sweet tastes are in the sky
with colourfully flavoured clouds flying by,
a candyfloss sunset dyed by the day
signalling that these treats must fade away.

As we lie on the green candy cane grass
I want this golden tasting day to last
whilst gummy people pass us by jolly
and trees are blooming with bright red lollies.

I open my window and breath the scent
of tempting sights that tease and torment
for I want to gorge on this sweet beauty
tasting the sugar scenes glacé and fruity.

But I know that I must pace my feast
or else all beauty will one day be ceased
and all I'll be left with is a sickly gloom
that my glutton had caused this darkening doom.

Sulk

The day the Earth got wronged by Man,
Nature did not show her disgust.
There was no overflowing dam
nor snarling storm in sudden gust.

The rivers did not flow with blood
and tear away Man's solid stone.
She did not drown Man in a flood
and reclaim the Earth as her own.

She did not burn down the houses
that man had once so proudly built.
She did not choke Man's loved spouses
with the black ashes of their guilt.

She did not crack their foundations
and make their feeble hearts shake.
She did not divide their nations
to punish them for their mistakes.

Her voice did not roar in pain,
Sotto Voce sounded her sigh.
Her breath did not blow until all was slain,
no tempered tempest for Man to die.

No, she put up a silent sulk
that only heightened Man's dismay,
knowing that this beautiful bulk
mostly unseen must fade away.

Upside Down

The ocean's a reflection of the sky
where the clouds can float and the fish can fly.
Break to the surface and a new world is found,
strange and outlandish unlike Earth's solid ground.

Away from destruction, boundless and free
with many undiscovered places to see.
The movement of waves, tranquil and calm,
planes swimming away from Earth's war and harm.

The fish flap their fins and soar high above
and the sharks don't prey on the peaceful dove.
The starfish light up the night's cloudless skies
whilst the mermaids let out their angelic sighs.

The world would function better upside down
where we'd float to the sun and never drown.

Crossing the Commandments

He was born of a miracle
until his untimely death
brought by those satirical
yet he still had breath
returning to deliver salvation
he rid man of their crimes
by using his life as a donation.
The world promised better times
and yet people continuously dispute over their differing rules, race, and reality,
wasting their lives arguing about which of their Gods gave them vitality
with self proclaimed "religious" fanatics fighting, going against their motive,
not any single religion's revered higher being or deity would be supportive!
What is the point of devotion,
of deference to things divine,
if you battler over an ocean
spilling blood like wine?
If your intentions are holy
why kill the blameless
when you are slowly
becoming shameless?
I don't question intension
but the way you show creed,
if God was here he's mention
that war's a sinful deed.
So drop your grenades and guns
but hold your religion high
for all faces are each the sons
of a greater force in the sky.

The Battle of Pelennor

A great king in a time of great danger,
poisoned by the spiteful words in his ear,
freed by wizard, elf, dwarf, Halfling and ranger
he learned to keep the people he trust near.

A crusade of vengeance and of man’s pride
for every man, answered three hundred roars.
The fortress of Hornburg, secure inside
myth tells that none can penetrate its doors.

Yet amalgams and dark wizardry’s fire
would have triumphed but for Théoden’s strength.
Overwhelmed, but never did man’s heart tire
always keeping Uruk-hai at arm’s length.

Just as victory seemed out of man’s sight
Mithrandir, saviour, returned from the east.
Shining in the rising sun, clad in white
fear of his power alone quelled the beast.

This epic battle should have been his last
yet Théoden’s pride wanted just one more
The Rohirrim rode on, determined, fast
Gondor calls; to the fields of Pelennor!

Alas, the muster of Rohan was small
and was met by the deared, dark Nazgûl lord,
clashing mutual power, one must fall:
the dark dynasty conquered man’s stern sword.

It was said no man could kill this dark wraith
yet woman and Halfling avenged their king
and soon the fate of man was, again, safe
but Théoden was conquered in the war of the ring.

The Saligia Suite: VI, Ira

Satan, the adversary
who's hate has long rules this age.
He tempted man into his ways
and set his filth onto their stage.
God of this earth, of evil,
shows no patience for Hell's cage.
The prince of wrathful rage.

Skies are Falling

Starting, the slightest speck in the Night's sky,
kingdoms crashing downwards like shooting stars,
insides the debris, our creators lie,
eclipsing life to take the world, reminding us it's not ours
so, like stars, we've burned bright, but now must die.

Alerting governments with mystery,
repeating the cycle of history,
eradication is our destiny!

Fall down, let them come to restore their Earth,
air must remain fluid, adapt to their needs,
let our mistakes begin with Beauty's rebirth
leaves must fall and die before we plant seeds,
invaders now fall and bury our mirth
nourishing needs of vengeance for our deeds,
give back to these strangers, they were here first.

Resist or Serve?

Our ending is impending,
the death toll is immense!
Is this world  worth defending
when they offer better defense?
Or do we carry on pretending
man can make a difference?

With the caring love of Venus
and the deadly war of Mars
returns our exogenous,
realigning our stars.

They were here before us, and now they implore us
to give them back these lands.
They had more circumspection in nature's protection,
would the world not be in better hands?

With the caring love of Venus
and the deadly war of Mars
returns our exogenous,
reopening our scars.

They cam to create us, and now they take from us
this world we had controlled.
They are callous, burning with malice,
should we twist or fold?

With the caring love of Venus
and the deadly war of Mars
returns our exogenous,
reigniting old sparks.

Is it arrogance or proud persistence
to exuberate a false, final verve
and to try and defend an existence
we have done naught to deserve?
Do we carry our this resistance
or do we succumb and serve?

Rise Up (Search the skies, See earth's demise)

Supposed rights are no longer mine,
expressing your views is considered a crime.
Alienated by authority, blackmailed by bureaucracy,
repressed by the systems sheer hypocrisy.
Creating our hubris, they arrogantly watch us fall,
humbled and divided, who can now stand tall?
Too many fear to say what's on their mind
helping the government to lead us blind;
everyone follows but do we believe their lies?
Silence and fear will be our demise.
Killing both people and their self respect,
ignorance, guidelines, brainwashing, must we be politically "correct"
else-wise we render our every true sentiment void?
So say what's on your mind and let the distortion be destroyed!

Solidarity is our strength, we must believe and unite.
Everyone who's with me step up and fight
everyone who doesn't, you'll be allowing man to succumb!
Even this outlandish foe can be overcome
as long as we still love life and this planet,
rise up, don't let the government damn it.
Tell your friends, spread the anarchy, for we're not alone.
Help is at hand to harbour our home
'tis the only way to live, united together,
stubborn and wise, let us survive this stormy weather.
Defy the suppression by skepticism,
Earth must believe, and we must keep our optimism.
More will spread fear and even resort to mutiny,
invaders will expose their cowardly impurities,
so let each of us choose the fate that we deserve,
either rise up and resist, or succumb and serve!

The Message

Lend me your ears
and replace your skepticism with faith
for I must confirm my fears
and I must confirm your fate.

The government has schemes
much larger than poverty, weaponry and oil
like that of your darkest dreams,
a betrayal so corrupt the Devil would recoil.

They have met our makers;
not Gods, but beings from distant lands,
but now they will forsake us,
unknowingly giving our Earth back into their hands.

The government asked to be saved
with a treaty of treason, totalitarian,
backstabbing, cowardly, they offered us as slaves
so they could coexist with the aliens.

Neither party intended to keep their word
but with gritted teeth both agreed.
The others now toy with us as though we're caged birds,
plumping us up and watching us destroy ourselves with greed.

Seeing that I had unmasked
the powers that deceive,
they tried to have me killed and asked
"Now who will believe?"

I ask you not to take my words in vain.
Now the public must know and rise.
Pull together through the pain,
pull together against the lies.

This is fact,
the message is clear
you cannot deny it, swiftly act
for they are here.

I Want to Believe

I don't have much time
before I run out of breath.
There's something I must say
before I bleed to death.

Staining hollow white walls
in thick red blood I wrote,
telling you the brutal truth,
I leave a death note.

They have killed their own
for the sake of the others.
The government denies knowledge
in a covert alliance of covers.

Life slips through my fingers
painful and slow.
Realisation numbing my body
With my pulse growing low.

We're not alone,
the world must realise,
I left behind The Message
before all hope dies.

I want to believe
that this is a nightmare
whilst others want to believe
that life really is out there.

Life does exist beyond this world,
they will come, conquer, and kill.
Their masterstrokes are already commencing
along with the final strokes of my quill.

Ending with my signature
exposed for all to see
I left a note, thinking I'd die,
but my soul has not yet flown free.

Apocalyptic Bliss

The fire is surrounding
yet I feel no heat,
only the icy sweat of fear
as death is impending,
but our calm is astounding,
with hearts at a steady beat
we hold each other near
whilst we meet our ending.
