Loving is egotistical,
the way we crave admiration
and affections from another.
Do we seek to better their lives
or merely to gain confidence
with the application of lovers?
Either way, it is a futile art
That inevitably ends
by burial or cremation.
All I need is my own approval,
afterall, I can rely on
my self-gratification.
