Love's Battlefield

One does not know the strength of their armour

til tested in the battle with heart pointed knives

nor the validity of warfare plans

until put to practice with people’s lives.

One does not know how sharp his scathing blade

until interlocked with a contenders

nor can he tell allies from adversaries

until he knows the crime’s true offenders.

One does not know how steady his aim

until he points his arrows at his foe

nor the agility of his evasion

until he finally falls for the blow.

To fall in love is a gambler’s decision

for its battlefield holds no rules nor precision.
